Triggers as Gateways

A 3-Day Experiential Workshop with Core Strokes®

Working with Triggers through Breath, Fascia & Relationship

Download the Brochure

Triggers are often experienced as moments of loss of control — sudden emotional reactions, bodily tension, or relational ruptures that seem to take us over.

In Core Strokes®, triggers are understood differently.

Rather than something to eliminate or manage, a trigger is seen as a gateway: a moment when the body remembers, when breath, fascia, posture, and relationship reveal unfinished patterns shaped by earlier experience. When met with awareness, presence, and the right kind of support, triggers become precise entry points for embodied transformation.

This 3-day experiential workshop offers a somatic, relational, and phase-based approach to working with triggers — in ourselves and in others.

What This Workshop Offers

In this workshop, we explore triggers as lived, embodied events rather than abstract psychological concepts.

Through guided experiential work, teaching, and relational practice, you will learn to:

  • Recognize how triggers manifest through breath, fascia, posture, voice, and relational dynamics

  • Understand triggers through the lens of the Energetic Breath Cycle™

  • Track early developmental patterns as they appear in present-moment activation

  • Work with emotional and physiological activation without retraumatization

  • Restore choice, contact, and regulation in moments of intensity

  • Support integration through breath, touch, movement, and relational presence

The work is carefully paced, respectful of individual limits, and grounded in clinical experience.

Experiential Focus

This workshop is not primarily theoretical.

The emphasis is on:

  • direct bodily experience

  • subtle tracking of sensation and breath

  • relational co-regulation

  • hands-on and hands-near practices (always consensual)

  • integration of insight through embodied learning

Short teaching segments provide orientation and context, but the core learning happens through felt experience.

Who This Workshop Is For

This workshop is suitable for:

  • Psychotherapists and body-oriented therapists

  • Bodyworkers and somatic practitioners

  • Facilitators working with trauma, stress, or emotional activation

  • Advanced students in relational and embodied approaches

  • Individuals wishing to understand and transform their own trigger patterns through the body

No prior experience with Core Strokes® is required.

An open, curious, and respectful attitude is enough.

About the Approach

Core Strokes® is a somatic and relational framework for embodied transformation. It integrates:

  • Breath-based developmental mapping

  • Fascial texture awareness

  • Neurofascial Encoding™

  • Phase-based trauma repair

  • Touch, movement, and relational presence

Rather than applying techniques to the body, Core Strokes® works with the body as an intelligent, living system — supporting reorganization from within.

The location – Luxembourg

This non-residential workshop will take place in a spacious 60 m² group room in Senningerberg, just outside Luxembourg City. The venue is easily accessible by both public transport and car. Full practical details will be provided upon registration.

Facilitated with care by…

Dirk Marivoet, MSc.

Dirk Marivoet is a psychotherapist, physiotherapist, and psychomotor therapist — and the founder of the International Institute for Bodymind Integration (IBI). For over four decades, he has walked the bridge between science and soul, blending academic depth with somatic wisdom.

A senior trainer in Core Energetics and Bodymind Integration methods, Dirk developed the Core Strokes® ® approach — a dynamic synthesis of breath, fascia, and emotional unfolding. His work invites the body to speak its truth, the breath to restore its rhythm, and the heart to return to its natural coherence.

He is based in Ghent, Belgium and guides internationally, offering spaces where healing becomes a journey of remembrance and embodied truth.
